THE Dress

We bought a dress!

Not just ANY dress.

We bought THE dress!

Isn't it funny?

All you have to say is...

We bought THE dress and people know

exactly what you are talking about!

I guess I should say,

"Lacey said Yes to THE dress."

That seems kind of cheesy though,

considering people don't normally talk to dresses.

I am actually a little sad we bought THE dress

because shopping for THE dress is so exciting!

I am not allowed to talk about THE dress,

show pictures of THE dress or mention any details about THE dress.

But.......Lacey never gave me any rules about the dresses

that were NOT THE dress!

So here's a peek.

Nope, none of these were THE dress.

but........

this was ALMOST THE dress!

(Isn't this a beautiful dress!)

If you think this dress is gorgeous wait till you see THE dress.

It brought tears to my eyes.

It brought tears to Lacey's eyes.

(Larry isn't saying if it brought tears to his eyes.)

So we bought THE dress for Lacey's

HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

Where Do We Start?

Wow!  A Wedding!

Where do we start?

"How much does a wedding cost?"

Honestly, I have no clue!

So, I started reading articles on the internet about

wedding budgets and realized....

Weddings are expensive!!!

But!

I am going to let you in on a little secret!

We are NOT going to "break the bank" on this wedding.

Besides that...

Lacey doesn't want a big fancy wedding!

She has always been very practical and really dislikes 

having people make a big deal about her.

She never liked having birthday parties and

completely avoids being the center of attention.

sigh!

(She is NOTHING like me!!)

so...

Here's how this is going to go down.

This wedding is going

to be a 
DIY,
"Do it Yourself",
 stay in budget,
  dream come true!

We attended a Bridal Fair!

(Not that helpful and very overwhelming!)

We have been reading

magazines and books. 

(Very helpful and NOT overwhelming)

We even have a special little "planner" to keep us on task!

So...I gotta go!

Legacy of Love

My daughter is getting married.

My heart feels like it could it explode.

Mostly, I am happy!

I am happy because Lacey is happy!

Lacey is our first born child 

When she was little she was a certified Momma's girl!

We were joined at the hip!  She cried anytime I left her

or even walked out of the room!

As Lacey got older she ventured out more and realized her DAD

was her kindred spirit!  She is her dad through and through!

They both have very kind hearts and a great sense of humor.

They both see the good in people and trust unconditionally.

(They both love coffee more than anything or anyone...just kidding, sort of!)

So, why am I talking about all this sentimental stuff?

I guess because I was thinking about family 

and the legacy of love Lacey comes from. 

This was her "Papa" Nolan.  Lacey loved him more than ANYTHING!

This was "Grandma" Nolan.  

Her grandma was fiercely protective of her!

This was Lacey's Grandma and Grandpa Crow.

They loved Lacey, their first born grandchild.

Generations of marriage.

Generations of couples who fought through hardship

to raise children and love each other.

These people who are no longer with us but will be remembered forever!

They are the people who taught Lacey how to love,

unconditionally and without regret.

So, I am at peace!

Lacey KNOWS how to love and how to be loved in return!

She is ready to live

HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

The Engagment

Jarrod is such a gentlemen!

His mom raised a great young man.

He is very smart, hardworking and ambitious.


After getting our approval, Jarrod
asked Lacey to marry him. 

He gave her this beautiful ring.

Lacey had no idea this was about to happen.


And, she said YES!

They are going to live
Happily ever after!

This is Jarrod!

He is an only child!

He is marrying my daughter

and I already love him very much!

They are crazy about each other!

They met in Norman, Oklahoma

and began dating about four years ago.
